I'd rather be dumb

It is strange how individuals and small groups of people, when left alone, can figure out how to do stuff. They can create new ways of doing things. They can give us clearer understanding of the world around us. I'm not demeaning education as we know it today, but most of the basic premises that we base education on were discovered by individuals who were just curious. Let's face it, curiosity is a good thing mostly.

Not for the cat I guess, but they have nine lives and can afford the dangers involved.

Still, after centuries of people being curious, we have come to the era of dumb. It is based on the premise that no one, who has been curious enough to learn the accumulated information over the centuries, has the right to tell others how things work.

I have met a few individuals who are proud to have never read a book. I imagine they don't count either since our number system was created by Arabs.

It is even more mystifying how we can insist on being dumber the rocks.

I'm sorry. I demeaned rocks.

Never met a rock that was able to resist gravity.

I do know people that don't believe in gravity. I never asked, but maybe they don't believe in rocks either.

Just kidding. Even cavemen believed in rocks.

There're still people who believe the world is flat.

That's ok with me, but I wouldn't want them in charge of the air force.

I fear we may be getting close to that actually happening. We do have a non-navy guy running our navy.

If Jeffery had not died so suddenly, perhaps he could have handled one of the other military branches.

No, that probably would not have suited his skills.

Perhaps something in early childhood development area. He could have been the only administration appointee that had experience in his field.

Then there is the Q-anon conspiracy group. I thought one of their big ideas was an elite conspiracy of pedophiles that needed to be reined in, but it turns out, I was mistaken.

Even the news media got that one wrong.

They didn't want to get rid of pedophiles, they wanted to elect them to office.

One of my favorite groups are those who think we faked a moon landing. That one was so well planned that even Russian, China, India, Europe, and two of the riches men in the world fell for it.

But this group knows the truth. They just walk to the edge of the earth, every now and then, to make sure we're not moving.

These might be the same guys who think contrails from planes are really dropping chemicals for some nefarious purpose.

to make that theory work, you also have to disregard wind and weather. So, if you can do that, then when you see a contrail overhead, it will be falling directly on you.

However, if you do accept wind and weather as being real, then you know that the chemicals overhead are really aimed at India.
